It was my most painful experience to date. After we got off the plane from Bali, we were heading to the immigration checkpoint before collecting our luggage. I was running beside the travelator and accidentally tripped and slammed against the side of the bench. There was so much blood from the cut that Daddy had to bring me to the washroom to wash off the blood. But it didn't help and when Cindy Yee Yee took a look at the damage, she realised it was very serious and insisted that Daddy and Mummy rush me to KK Hospital. As it was the first day of CNY, there was only one doctor shuttling between the three terminals so we didn't bother to wait for the doctor there.
At KK, the doctor took a look at me and said he needed to stitch up the wounds in my mouth. I was put on GA and when I woke up about 2 hours later, I had 3 stitches just above my chin and another 12 stitches inside my mouth. I was in pain but I was very brave and didn't cry very much. Daddy and Mummy decided to bring me home instead of warding me for fear that I might get infected by the other sick children there. Nai Nai, Ye Ye and Yi Sok were visibly heartbroken when they saw me.
Ma Ma decided that she didn't want to spend Chinese New Year in Singapore this year so we spent 5 days in Bali instead with Ma Ma, Gong Gong, Cindy Yee Yee, Ivan Tio Tio and Faith Jie Jie. It will be Andrea's maiden flight and we are very excited for her. Mummy and Daddy were a little nervous at first because they had to worry about me and Andrea but it turned out pretty well as we were both good and gave no trouble.
We stayed at The Haven located at Seminyak. The hotel was quite new and easily accessible. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very kind to us and it rained 3 of the 5 days we were there. But the idea of the trip was to spend time together so it didn't matter that we couldn't go to too many places.
We managed to visit the Bali Zoo and had lots of fun there. The tram ride allowed us to go very close to the animals like the lions and tigers and we even travelled over a small lake where the hippo was bathing. Daddy and I went on the camel ride and although it was not a very long ride, we had lots of fun. After the zoo, we headed to Ubud for some babi guling and then some major shopping at the local market. We also visited the Lotus Cafe and had ice cream while Daddy cool down with a bottle of beer. Dinner was at The Dirty Duck Restaurant which is a very nice eating place over looking the padi fields.
On the fourth day, we visited The Tanah Lot Temple. It was very crowded given it was the eve of the Chinese New Year and some locals were there for some ceremony. Daddy couldn't get many nice pictures as I wasn't very cooperative and didn't want to be photographed. However he did get a nice stick of roasted corn which was very sweet and smelled awesome. We also visited the Uluwatu Temple and like the Tanah Lot Temple, it was very very crowded with both locals and tourists. Gong Gong's glasses were stolen by one of the local monkey and thank goodness there was someone to help exchange the glasses for some bananas. The "helpful" man demanded 20,000 Rupiah from Daddy and he wasn't too pleased with that.
Although we didn't visit many local attractions, I think everyone had a good break.
Although I just turned 3 years old about 2 weeks ago, I am actually 4 years old in 2012. So I have been upgraded to N2 and have to move from Etonhouse 717 to Etonhouse 764.
Today is my first day in the new school. I was told I had to put on the school uniform just like all the other kids and I think I look like a walking Christmas Tree, obviously I resisted but still had to put it on. There are 22 kids in my new class and my teacher is Ms Suzanne. Like all first days of school, it was a big mess. There was a Bouncing Castle to welcome us and almost every kid tried to get on it. And due to the hot weather, we were also treated to colourful popsicles and I had 2 of it.
Unlike 717, I won't get to shower and take a nap in 764. So at the end of today, I was feeling really tired and went to bed at 8pm. I guess this will be my new bedtime.
Today marks the last day of my stay in Etonhouse 717. I have been here since I was 18 months old and have grown attached to many of the teachers here. I will miss Ms Charlotte, Ms Renee, Ms Ming, Ms Yda, Ms Fish, Ms Laura and Li Lao Shi. The good thing is most of my classmates are moving to the N2 class at Etonhouse 764 just down the road. However, I will not be in the same class as Asher and Kayne Jin but I am sure I will see them in school. Mummy and Daddy told me that the school is much bigger and has a bigger playground and more classrooms. I was also told that I have to wear the school uniform now. I am sure we will look very cute in the Christmasy uniform.
I had a great time at 717 and I just wanna say a big thank you to all the teachers who have made going to school very fun.
A few months ago, I told Mummy I wanted to invite my friends for my party, assuming I was going to get a 3rd year birthday party. Mummy and Daddy discussed about it and seeing that I had been a good boy this year, decided that I will indeed get a birthday party at Polliwogs since I like that place so much.
I invited all my friends from school but cos some of them were away on vacation, only Asher, Kayne Jin, Michiru, Makena, Mariam and Yiren could make it. Mummy also invited some of her friends with children and of course Godpa with Janessa.
We started with playing at the gym and thank goodness it wasn't very crowded that day. We had lots of fun running around and running through the tunnels. Then we had games in the room and finally it was time to sing the birthday song. Mummy and Daddy got me a cake with Team Umi Zumi characters. It was awesome! We also had lots to eat and even ice cream. We continued playing at the gym after eating and only left that place around 6pm. I was exhausted by then but I had a great day.
Today is Daddy's birthday and together with Mummy, we made a cake for Daddy last night. It was fun as I decorated the cake with lots of colored cream and M&Ms. Daddy was very surprised with the cake and he thought it was very well done. After singing Daddy a song and he cut the cake, we got ready to go to school where Mummy and Daddy had prepared my birthday celebration with my school friends.
The cake for my party was from Jane's Cake Station. Daddy picked it up yesterday so that we can have it this morning for the party. Mummy added more M&Ms around the edges and it looked really colorful. Most of my friends were there to celebrate my birthday with me while a few of them were gone for their year end holiday. Ms Yda helped me to prepare the cake and as I tried to blow out the candles after the birthday song, they just wouldn't go off. Mummy had prepared the funny candles for me and my friends and we had a fun time trying to blow out the candles. A lot of saliva also landed on the cake but everyone just ignored that. The chocolate cake was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. Thank you Mummy and Daddy for the cake.
It was not the original intention to go to Hong Kong Disneyland but because Japan was hit by the earthquake in April this year so we had to cancel that trip. Mummy and Daddy arranged the Hong Kong trip with Godpa and Aunty Jo so that I have Janessa for company. We were there from the 6th to 10th December.
We spent a whole day in Disneyland. Although we were told that the weather there is very cold, we were surprised to find that it was almost as hot as Singapore. It was very crowded, mostly with mainland Chinese but we managed to catch most of the attractions with not too much waiting time. We stayed till the end to watch the fireworks in front of the castle. Before the show was over, I was already fast asleep in the stroller, tired from running around the whole day.
Janessa was not feeling well the next day so Godpa decided to let her sleep in while we went on our own to explore the South of Hong Kong. We took the double decker bus which took us from Central all the way to Stanley Market. It was rather exciting as the road was very narrow, windy and for most parts, either going uphill or downhill. We had lunch at Stanley Market after walking around the shops. Mummy and Daddy spent about an hour having coffee while I was playing at a playground nearby.
The next day we went to Ocean Park and this time the weather was more pleasant although the crowd was still the same with mainly Mandarin speaking tourists. There were many thrill rides which were meant for older kids so we were only left with a few simple rides which were not worth the waiting time. Daddy felt the highlight of that place was the cable car ride which took us to the top of the mountain and overlooking Stanley Market. The Dolphin and Seal show was also not very fantastic but the kids enjoyed it nonetheless. Daddy said the Ocean Park at San Diego is much better so I am looking forward to going there next time.
It was a good break for everyone and I am now looking forward to Disneyland Japan and Ocean Park San Diego.
