First Visit to Church

Today marks my first visit to church. We were slightly late and by the time we got there, the congregation was already done with the worship session which is Mummy's favourite part of church. We were seated at the back together with other parents and their babies. I was kinda tired so I slept through most of the service.

Unfortunately, today will also mark the first time Daddy drop me on the floor. How did it happened? Well, I was sleeping soundly in the car seat during service, minding my own business as usual. Then Daddy got up to shift me because there was someone who wanted to pass the row of seats. Daddy picked the car seat but unfortunately because the handle wasn't locked, I swung forward and fell face down onto the carpeted (thank goodness) floor. Everybody around us gasped as Mummy frantically picked me up from the floor and tried to calm my rather shaken body. Thank goodness for the carpet, the only evidence of Daddy's carelessness was a slight red bruise on my forehead. I wonder what Nai Nai will say if she finds out I fell from the car seat. Daddy was tearing a little as Mummy quickly carried me out of the service in case I decided to announce to the world that Daddy dropped me. I am sure Daddy didn't do it on purpose so I stopped crying after a while. I am sure Daddy will check on the handle each time he carries me now.

After the church service, we went to Changi Terminal 3 for lunch with Uncle Benny, Aunty Lisa, Uncle Jimmy and Aunty Maycee. There were other cell members there who took turns to carry me and feed me while Mummy and Daddy ate their lunch. Then we went to Uncle Jovan's house for Leroy's baby shower. It was quite funny cos Daddy almost mistaken me for him after he came back from parking his car. I guess we are both cute so Daddy couldn't really tell the difference. My Daddy is so blurr...

Not So Happy Valentine's Day

Mummy told me it is St Valentine's Day today. Everywhere around the world candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones. There are many legends behind the story of St Valentine's but the most popular contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men — his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

It wasn't so happy for me today as Mummy and Daddy had to bring me to the doctor because my nose is completely blocked and I had trouble breathing while drinking my milk, causing me to sometimes choke. Dr Hiew checked me and said that my nose is indeed blocked and hardly any air can go through. As such, I have to breath through my mouth and that causes my tummy to be big. So I am actually not fat as some of you have been led to think. Dr Hiew also updated my weight as 5.8kg.

Eye Lashes

My eye lashes are starting to show now. Aunty Evelyn told Mummy that if she wants my lashes to grow longer, she can try snipping it off and it should grow longer later. So Mummy gathered her courage today and while I was sleeping, she carefully cut off whatever eye lash I have. Let's hope I will have long eye lashes like WeiEn Zhe Zhe.

My First Swimming Lesson

I had my first swimming lesson at Hwa Xia International at VivoCity today. It was fun. I had this pink float fitted around my neck so I can stay afloat on my own in this tub filled with water. The aunties there were very nice and friendly. One of them lowered me into the water and helped me to adjust by exercising my legs.

For about 15 mins, I was playing around in the water. Then I got a little restless and started to cry. The aunties thought it might be a good idea to give me the pacifier to keep me quiet. However, it was not too long before I decided to take a nap in the warm and comfortable water. It reminded me of the time I was inside Mummy's tummy and that felt good. Apparently Daddy and Mummy think this is good for me so they signed me up for another 10 sessions there. Hopefully I will be more active the next time I am in the tub instead of falling asleep.
