5 in 1 Injection

This morning Mummy and Daddy brought me to the Marine Parade Polyclinic for my 5 in 1 injection due on my 3rd month. We had a couple of choices as to where we can take this injection. Dr Junior the Paediatrician charges the highest, followed by the GP and of course the Polyclinic is the most reasonable. Mummy and Daddy decided to try out the Polyclinic as they were told most people go there so the vaccine is fresh with regular replenishment. Of course the disadvantage is that it will be crowded and we have to wait. As it turns out, we were given priority because of me so we didn't even have to wait at all.

Nurse Chew was very nice and patient as she took my weight and height and also asked Mummy a couple of questions as it was our first time there. By the way, I now weigh 6.8kg and measure 64.5cm in height. I am average with my weight and above average with my height. Daddy hopes I will grow up tall because he thinks height is not easy to improve. However, he doesn't mind me heavy as it is easier to lose weight.

I have developed thrush around my lips due mostly to the usage of unclean pacifier or bottle teats. Mummy suspects it is the pacifier as I often spit it out and after rolling around the bed/pram/rocker, it is stuffed back into my mouth. Doctor Yap says it is not very serious and will prescribe some medication to be applied on the troubled spots. Should be fine soon.

Finally I had to take the injection with Nurse Chew. She was very gentle and I was very brave and cried only a little after the injection. Daddy was very proud of me as he expected me to scream since my first experience 1 month ago with Dr Junior was not very pleasant. I fell asleep quite soon after and both Mummy and Daddy were pleasantly surprised.

Before going to Bishan to meet Ah Mah, we stopped by Daddy's office cos Jean JIE JIE wanted to see me and play with me. I also met Aunty Elaine, Liya Jie Jie and Cheryl Jie Jie. Aunty Jazz was very entertaining as usual and sang me a funny song that shut me up. I wasn't sure if I was stunned or entertained as I sat there and watched her perform.

Happy Birthday Ye Ye!

Today is Ye Ye's birthday. At first we were suppose to have dinner outside to celebrate but Nai Nai thought it was quite troublesome with 2 babies so she decided to cook at home instead.

Actually the real reason for us eating in is more because there was an important soccer match at 8pm so we decided to eat in so we can catch the game. It was the all important Manchester United against Liverpool game at Old Trafford. Daddy and Gu Jeong San are Man U fans while Ye Ye and Steve Yi Sok are Liverpool fans. Usually Nai Nai would support Man U but tonight she decided she will be sitting on the fence for obvious reasons. Even Evan Kor Kor decided not to side anyone tonight.

As it turned out, Man U had a horrible game and Daddy was utterly shattered. He had been looking forward to a Man U win but I guess he has to wait for a while to confirm the title race. Well, at least Ye Ye had a good birthday present this year.

We had a cake for Ye Ye and since Steve Yi Sok is in Dubai, we decided to get him on Skype and sang the birthday song together. We even managed to take a family photo with Steve Yi Sok's face on the laptop. Modern technology is so cool....

Mummy On Leave

Mummy left for Jakarta this morning at 6am with Aunty Julia for 4 days and this will be the first time I don't have Mummy with me at night. That means Daddy will be taking care of me at night with Nai Nai taking the day shift. Mummy deserves a break as she has been working very hard while taking care of me. I hope Mummy have a good time and comes back refreshed.

I hope Daddy can handle me at night... :)

I'm Sick Again...

This morning when I woke up for my milk, Mummy thought I was a little warm. So she took my temperature but the reading was fine. It read 36.9 degrees. However, it seem to get worst towards the afternoon and by the time Mummy took my temperature again, I was piping hot at 38.1 degrees. Nai Nai drove us to Dr Junior immediately. By the time I saw the doctor, I was already 38.2 degrees and he was very concerned as it is considered high fever for me. He said I must have caught the fever from someone in the house. He also said I had a throat infection and bacteria in my tummy.

Mummy was very worried and when she came home, immediately place a cool towel over my forehead and tried to bring my temperature down. Thank God I felt much better by evening time and my temperature was somewhat back to normal. I continue to eat my medication which didn't taste very nice. I wonder how come Evan Kor Kor likes to eat medicine.

Unfortunately, after I got well, Mummy started getting sick. I must have passed it to her while she was taking care of me. sorry Mummy... :(

Double Chin!!!

Look at your double chin! That was the first thing Dr Junior said when he saw me this morning. I was visiting him for the second time in 2 weeks for a few reasons. First it was my stuffy nose which has been giving me a hard time while I slept and when I drank my milk. He said it is not a virus since I have not recovered from it but no other symptoms like fever have surfaced. It is probably because I have a sensitive nose (like Daddy) and allergic to either dust or dirt from the house or from construction sites. I guess it must be the construction nearby.

Secondly I have not pooed in 4 days so Mummy and Daddy are getting a little concerned. Dr Junior inserted some lubricant into my backside and said I will likely crap later today. I seem to have inherited this constipation problem from Mummy who can go without crapping for a few days.

Thirdly I seem to have a swollen right eye that is causing me to look like I have lost my double eye lid. Dr Junior said it is possible that babies can lose their double eye lids but mine is quite deep set so it is not likely that I will lose mine. I am hoping he is right.

By the way, I am now 6.3kg and 63cm. I wonder how much of that extra weight is my poo.

No Accidents

I went to church today for the second time. For the record, Daddy didn't drop me this time. But on our way back from church, as he was turning a corner, the car seat next to me toppled over and would have landed on me if not for Mummy's quick hands.

I wore my first pair of shoes to church today which happens to be similar to what Daddy wore too. I think we look cool...

Mummy and Daddy actually rushed back from church to have lunch at home. Apparently Aunty Lastri, our new helper, makes a killler Gado Gado. They have already tried her Chicken Rendang and Mee Soto and were impressed with her. Now they are thinking of bringing her to a Malay store here and see what else she can cook up. I think they will put on weight soon.
