On 26th Feb, we welcome Burpy into our home as our first furry pet. He is a Syrian hamster with the most docile personality. He would allow us to hold him and stroke him without moving at all. Sometimes we even handle him a little too rough and Daddy would tell us to be more gentle with him, after all he is still a baby and we shouldn't be throwing a baby around.
Like all hamsters, Burpy is a nocturnal creature. He will be running on the thread mill even in the middle of the night. Sometimes Daddy will be watching the TV late at night and he will hear more of Burpy's workout than the TV. In the morning before we go off to school or before Mummy and Daddy go off to work, Burpy will be roll up in a ball and fast asleep in a corner. We like to put Burpy in a Ziploc bag filed with goodies and watch him go crazy eating them. We are so glad to have Burpy.
