Merry Christmas 2010...
Like most kids, I like Christmas because I will get a lot of presents. Some are Christmas presents, some are Birthday presents, and some are a combination of both. Regardless, I like them all. Mummy and Daddy got me this really cool Rocking Horse. It even has buttons on its ears which when pressed makes the horse neighs and wags it's tail.
We had a really good time opening all the presents and I managed to take a picture of all the presents I received. Thank you all aunties and uncles for the presents. Merry Christmas to all...

Let there be Lights...
We managed to get on the Orchard Road Christmas Lights Hippo Tour tonight without any hiccups. Crowd was manageable so we didn't really have to rush at all. The guide was very good and funny so everyone had a really good time. I too enjoyed the lights and cos we were sitting on the top deck of the topless bus, I could feel the wind in my face as we rode down Orchard Road. Daddy and Mummy had fun too and they probably don't mind doing it again next year if they still have this service.

I am 2 years old!
I am officially 2 years old today! How time flies. I thought I just celebrated my 1 year old party just a while ago....
Mummy and Daddy lined up a full day event for me today. Starting with a little party in school with my classmates. Unfortunately the school does not encourage party packs so all they prepared was a birthday cake, which was good enough for me. I had 2 servings of it, as did some of my classmates, much to the amazement of Mummy. We only stayed a little longer after the cake so it wouldn't be too hot for the next event. I felt like a celebrity as I was whizzed to the zoo...
We couldn't believe it when we got to the zoo. It was so so so crowded even at 11 am. There was a snake queue just to get the tickets so Daddy decided we wouldn't join in the mad rush. Just so it was not a wasted trip, we had ice cream at Ben and Jerry and I had a ball running around and playing with the rhino and elephant statues.. When we left the zoo at about 12.30 pm, there were still people walking in and joining the queue to get tickets.
Daddy and Mummy decided I will not miss out on the chance to play with animals (which happens to be my favourite, evidenced by me waking up in the morning and singing E I E I O like it is the national anthem) so we headed to Farm Mart located at Choa Chu Kang. In contrast to the zoo, this place was very quiet. In fact, we were the only ones at the farm area which was perfect for me as I had the animals all to myself. I got to buy treats to feed the goats and bunnies and I had a blast. I also saw lots of turtles, bull frogs, hamsters, birds and fishes....
I was very tired after the farm and had my milk in the car and fell asleep on Mummy's lap as Daddy drove us home.
When I finally woke up at about 5 pm, Mummy quickly changed me and we were out of the house in a jiffy. We were headed to Orchard Road to catch the Christmas lighting and we were told we could get free tickets on the Hippo Tour Bus if we could show any receipt with at least $100 of purchase. Daddy had a few from the Christmas shopping so we were booked for the 8.30 pm tour. Daddy and Mummy felt very "kiasu" going so early to book but they really didn't want me to miss the lights.
While waiting for 8.30 pm, we had dinner at Paragon and even managed to meet up with Enthia and Aunty Michelle for our little Christmas gift exchange. It was so crowded at Paragon but I managed to roam around while Mummy and Aunty Michelle chatted. I even brought my dog out for my walk!
Despite the kiasu effort to secure a place on the Hippo tour, we were not in luck as it started raining at 8.25 pm just as we were preparing to board the bus. Much to the disappointment of Mummy and Daddy (I was nonchalantly playing with the Iphone) , the tour was postponed and we will try again on Thursday. Let's hope the weather holds up then...
We headed home and this was how I celebrated my 2nd birthday. Thank you Mummy and Daddy....

No Dialect Please
Mummy and Daddy started talking in a strange language these days. I believe it is Teochew which I obviously don't understand. And I have a strange feeling it is because they don't want me to know what they are talking about. Maybe I should stay with my grand aunties and learn to speak Teochew so Mummy and Daddy won't be able to hide anything from me.

Musselicious...
Daddy had this sudden craving for mussels (no he is not pregnant, just fat) so we headed for The Mussel Guys at Vivo for lunch. The mussels served here is much bigger and tastier than those at Brussels Sprouts. Daddy is quite sure they are cheaper here too. As usual, I can only eat pasta so Daddy ordered the Salmon Pasta in cream sauce for me and I must say it was very tasty as I had 2 servings of it. The chicken wings didn't look too bad too but it was spicy so I couldn't eat them. Of course Mummy and Daddy didn't think I should eat anything that came out of shells so I also had to avoid the mussels.

La Petite Cuisine
We were at Serene Centre this morning and Mummy and Daddy decided to have an early lunch at La Petite Cuisine. It is a little French restaurant at the side entrance. The chef is this very grand-fatherly looking old French man who cooks from a glass kitchen. The food was very nice but I cannot say the same about the head waiter. He sounded very rude and impatient but Mummy and Daddy wasn't gonna let that spoil our lunch.
As usual I had pasta while Mummy and Daddy had the Duck Confit and Goat Cheese with salad.
For dessert, we headed to Island Creamery for ice cream. I had fun doodling with their crayons.

Barney Christmas Special
I ended my GUG class in the late morning and Mummy decided we should stay around and catch the Barney Christmas Special at United Square. We had a quick lunch at the food court and like all "kiasu" Singaporean, we decided to get a good spot to catch the show. We went to Ben & Jerry's on the third floor where we had a bird's eye view of the stage. We had ice cream on waffles as we watched 30 mins of Barney and friends celebrating Christmas. They sang Christmas carols and also some of their own songs. I had a good time but I'm not sure about Mummy and Daddy. They cannot believe they actually braved the crowd and caught the performance. They must really love me very much.

Fika...
No I am not scolding anyone. It is the name of a restaurant that serves very nice Swedish food and located along Arab Street. Mummy and Daddy like this place cos first of all it serves very good food and second of all, the decoration is very nice and clean. We ordered the Seafood Pasta as that is one dish I like and can eat on my own. The serving was surprisingly very large and the sauce very rich with lots of herbs. We also ordered the Grilled Chicken crepe which again was a large serving and very tasty. Yummy...

I Like Porridge
Nai Nai and Ye Ye have been eating at this porridge store for the longest time, I think even before Daddy was born. They started in Chinatown and has been moving around and each time Nai Nai and Ye Ye managed to track them down. Unlike other porridge stores in Maxwell Market where you have to wait in line for your order, this one takes your order and allows you to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee before you get your porridge.
I probably don't remember but Mummy and Daddy brought me here when I was a baby. But since I started running around, it is difficult to eat here without a baby chair, so we haven't been there for more than a year. The aunties there said I have grown so much, which is good cos it has been more than a year since they last saw me.
Besides the porridge, the coffee there is apparently very good too....

Horses!
I love animals. Whenever Mummy and Daddy brings me out, I try to bring as many of them with me as possible. On a lucky day if Mummy has space in her bag, I will get to bring the whole team out. I pronounce "Horse" very accurately and I guess Mummy and Daddy concluded that I like horses very much.
We got to see horses in action today when Mummy and Daddy brought me to Riders Cafe. It is a very nice cafe located near Turf City and from the balcony seats, you can actually see the stables with all the horses. We didn't plan on going there at first cos without reservations, it is almost impossible to get a table there on a weekend. It was my lucky day cos there was an empty table when we got there and even luckier that it was a balcony seat. We ordered brunch and as we ate, we saw horses being led into the stables for the changeover. I had lots of fun at Riders Cafe and I am sure Mummy and Daddy will bring me back there again soon.
And of course I didn't forget my animals as I ate. As you can see from the picture, I was trying to feed my sheep with french toast. I think she likes it.

I am on top of the world!
Mummy and Daddy decided to book a couple of nights at Marina Bay Sands to chill out and also to check out the infinity pool. As it was the Hari Raya long weekend, the crowd was especially big, and if not the spectacular view from the infinity pool, the whole place looked like any public pool. Despite the crowd, I had a really good time playing in the water with Mummy and Daddy. Kor Kor Elijah and Zhe Zhe Faith were there too and as we didn't have enough of the pool, all three of us squeezed into the bath tub and continued with the water play. I kinda like MBS although Mummy and Daddy think the service is very bad as it takes forever to get anything done. Oh well, maybe they are still new. Hopefully they will improve along the way.

Congrats Aunty Jo & Uncle Tim
I went for my first church wedding at St George's Church at Dempsey today. It is the holy matrimony of Aunty Joanita and Uncle Tim. They came back from the UK to have the Singapore part of their wedding. Apparently they had lots of fun with the UK version from the pictures they showed at the church.
Unfortunately I wasn't very interested in the ceremony and decided to walk around the church, with Daddy following after me. It is a very quaint church and looks like a nice place. I played with 2 new friends Amanda and Ashlyn who apparently wasn't very interested in the wedding ceremony too.
Aunty Jo and Uncle Tim will be in Singapore until next week when they will fly back to the UK where they have a new place.
All the best to the newly weds!

First Day at School
I have reached another milestone in my life! Today I started school at Eton House Pre-School at Mountbatten Road. It was really exciting.. actually Mummy has been telling me about starting school soon but honestly I had no idea what that meant... until today. Mummy also customised a school bag for this special occasion. It was ordered from Australia and she had it delivered just in time for my first day at school. Thank you Mummy!
After saying goodbye to Nai Nai and Ye Ye, Mummy and Daddy drove me to school. We got there about 10 mins to 9 am and apparently most of the other kids come in at 9 am. It was quite a mad house at 9 am cos some of the kids were crying and refusing to be separated with their mummies. It was quite nerve racking for me since it is my first day at school and they were not really helping.
Unfortunately the school has already served breakfast (before 9 am) so I never got a chance to find out what breakfast was. The teachers then started applying sun block to the children and we had about 30 mins in the playground. It was a big playground and had lots of things to play. I was all sweaty by the time we were done.
I made friends with this girl named AsiaLily. She was sitting next to me and she showed me some of the books she was reading. I think her name is really cool. I also met Jack (real name is Joseph but everyone calls him Jack) who is about 11 months older than me and was kinda showing me around.
After we cleaned up a little, we were shown to the dining area and we were given fruits. It was really different having to sit with so many other children and eating together. If we could talk, I think we would be talking about what we did over the weekend. But since we can't, we were just eating our fruits quietly and looking at each other. So strange.
Chinese lesson was next and we sang many different mandarin songs. Some were familiar and I could hum along.
Just about this moment, Mummy and Daddy decided to leave me and see if I was alright on my own. At first I was doing good and participated in the classes. Then I got tired and decided to take a nap for about an hour. The children usually sleep around 2 pm but since I was new, they allowed me to sleep earlier. When I woke up, I was hungry so I got to drink my milk. Halfway through, Mummy and Daddy reappeared and guess what, I started crying uncontrollably. I was not sure if I was crying for joy or if I was angry they left me and disappeared.
Mummy and Daddy decided that I will not stay all the way as planned and brought me home early. I guess it was enough for the first day of school. They were really proud of me for not crying as much as some of the other kids who have been there for some time already. I hope I will do better tomorrow.

Bubbles!
Mummy and Daddy brought me to the Gazillion Bubble Show this afternoon at Downtown East. It was very crowded at the D' Marquee with almost 1,200 people packed into the hall. The show was performed by Fan Yang who is also the founder of the show. Apparently his wife Ana Yang also does a good job but she isn't here this time. Instead his son Deni Yang came on for a guest appearance.
It lasted about 2 hours and sadly after the first hour, I fell asleep even though the noise level was extremely high. I missed one of the best part of the show where they blew gazillion bubbles into the hall and all the children went crazy, but I continued sleeping. Thank goodness I woke up just in time for the other highlight where they had a laser show together with the bubbles. It was very nice.

My Friend Sumit
We had lunch with Uncle Som, Aunty Mo and my friend Sumit today. Mummy thought it would be nice to have dim sum so we went to the Tung Lok Classic restaurant at Chinese Swimming Club. I got to eat some of the dim sum too and it was delicious. Sumit is still not on solids yet so he could only watch while Aunty Mo fed him his milk. I guess soon he will be able to join us to eat dim sum. I even got presents from Uncle Som and Aunty Mo. Thank you so much!!

My Food Bag
Mummy bought me a cool looking food bag from Melbourne and I think it is just big enough to contain all my food when we go out. On a typical weekend, Mummy will prepare my snacks which will keep me occupied for some time. She will always have an apple cut into quarters and I will usually finish them all because I love apples. She will also have a box of rice crispies cos it is small and keeps me occupied for a long time. There will also be biscuits because those are healthy and yummy too. And of course not forgetting my favourite drinking cup and all this will be found in my Thomas and Friends food bag.

Yi Sok Steve is back!
The last time Yi Sok Steve was back was when Mummy and Daddy got married and that was about 2.5 years ago. This time Yi Sok Steve decided to visit during the Chinese New Year period so that he gets to see more relatives and friends. He got back on New Year's Eve just in time for the Reunion Dinner at Royal Hotel. Nai Nai decided not to have the usual steamboat for Reunion Dinner this year as we wanted to have a slow and relaxing dinner so we can catch up with Yi Sok Steve. I have heard so much about Yi Sok Steve and now I will get to play with him for the next 2.5 weeks. Welcome home Yi Sok Steve!

Godpa came over to our house today and brought Janessa Jie Jie to swim with me. She looked really cute in her bumble bee costume and suddenly my blue outfit looked so pale in comparison. At first she was very hesitant to go into the water and struggled as Godpa tried to put her into the float. However once in the water, she started having so much fun she was laughing and splashing water everywhere. We spent about 20 mins in the water and showered and got ready for dinner. As I woke up early this morning and was out the whole day, I was really tired and fell asleep before dinner was over. They had chocolate fondue and I heard Evan Kor Kor had a blast with the marshmallows.

Big Time Diarrhoea
I think I am teething again and this time it feels like I am either having many teeth or they are the big molars. Why do I say that? Cos I had diarrhoea 7 times in the last 24 hours. And each time I crapped, poor Mummy has the privilege of washing my backside while Daddy held on to me. After a few times, it was getting painful and I didn't give them an easy time. I also couldn't finish my usual 210 ml of milk which is unusual cos I usually fuss that it is not enough. And finally I whined so much at night before I went to sleep Daddy almost threw me out of the room again. Hiaz... Story of my life.....

Good Start to the New Year
Happy New Year to all Uncles, Aunties, Kor Kors and Jie Jies. It is the first day of 2010 and I took my first 10 unassisted steps. I am really happy cos that means very soon I will get to go to more places on my own without having to wait for Mummy or Daddy to carry me there. I haven't quite decided where I want to go but for now, I guess it will just be in and out of my room. Speaking of my room, Mummy and Daddy has been hard at work trying to make my room very nice. I got my own tree in the corner of the room with birds and butterflies and I am very happy with that. I also got my own initials over my bed and I think that is really cool. Mummy says there are more things to come so I will update when there are changes.
